Trainer's Guide

Making Course Training Easy with DaDesktop Virtual Desktops

DaDesktop Virtual Desktops make it effortless to build online courses from any location across India.

Please note: DaDesktop (DD) now supports having one or more trainers for a course.

Each trainer gets their own login to DaDesktop and can fully operate the ‘Trainer Desktop’ as if it’s their personal machine.

DaDesktop, and can control the Trainer Desktop

The concept is that both trainers join the audio conference, switching roles at suitable intervals while taking control of the Trainer Desktop whenever needed. This approach proves especially valuable for longer courses or any course that benefits from having two subject‑matter experts guide the participants.

Before creating a new course

  1. Course details: title, schedule, and number of participants.
  2. Location of Trainers and Delegates (to advise on the best data centre in India).
  3. Trainer's email address(es)
  1. Chrome
  2. Firefox
  3. Microsoft Edge
  1. DaDesktop users must have a reliable internet connection.
  2. Using Wi‑Fi in a coffee shop is not recommended, as it tends to be unstable.
  3. Before training, remember that DaDesktop is a web-based training portal.
  4. Internet speed should be faster than: "10 Mbps download & 1 Mbps upload"
  5. Using a twin screen and a camera is recommended whenever possible.

First step: How to set up your course

  1. Course coordinators will assist you when setting up the course.
  2. Add trainers by sending them the registration invitation link.
  3. The trainer then receives an email containing the course details and a login link.
  4. Trainers can log into their accounts at https://dd4t.dadesktop.com
  5. After that, send out the course invitations to participants (the pink one).
  6. Note: Even if more than one trainer is leading the course, there is always just one Trainer machine in use.

Second step: Prepare your "DaDesktop" in the course

  1. Click "Create from OS template" to set up the Fresh Start desktop. This is where the trainer builds the course content; once it's ready, you clone it to your Trainer Desktop and to each Participants desktop. If you already have a 'Standalone' machine containing your course setup, click the dropdown arrow and choose the Standalone option.
  2. Pick the OS template, choose the data centre closest to you, and select the configuration you need for the training. Then click 'Create Desktop'.
  3. Connect to the desktop and get your course ready inside the DaDesktop virtual machine.

Third step: Clone desktop to all participants

  1. When you've finished preparing the 'Fresh Start desktop', exit and stop the desktop.
  2. In the Trainer section, click "Create from Fresh Start desktop" to clone a desktop that matches the fresh start machine.
  3. If delegates are spread across different regions, use the dropdown on 'Create from Fresh-Start Trainer desktop' to clone into each delegate's region.
  4. Additional options, such as Clone from Standalone and Create from OS Template, are also available in the dropdown.

Final step: Join the Training Room

  1. Both trainers and participants click on Training Room to join the session.
  2. As they join, the system automatically clones the FreshStart desktop to every participant.
  3. Within the Training Room, automatic recordings of audio and video can be created.
  4. Each delegate can view two desktops—the Trainer's and their own—so screen sharing isn't necessary.
  5. Through the Training Room, the trainer can see every participant's machine along with their own, and can take control of any participant's machine individually to offer assistance. Each participant sees their own machine and only the trainer's desktop.
