SSH Access
For ease of use, it is often requested to have SSH access to DaDesktop machines, making it simpler for course participants and trainers in India to access their desktop environments from their personal laptops or desktops. It's no surprise that many prefer typing commands on a local terminal rather than inside a remote desktop's terminal.
While technically feasible, we do not allow SSH access in this setup because it would unnecessarily expose DaDesktop course machines to significant security risks.
A drag and drop file transfer capability has been introduced so that files can be effortlessly moved from your own device into the DaDesktop machine. Some requests for full SSH access arose because there was previously no easy way to transfer files, but with this feature now available, using DaDesktop has become even more convenient.
It's also worth noting that full QEMU Spice Desktop support is now available on both Windows and Linux OS templates, which greatly simplifies copying and pasting commands from your local machine to the DaDesktop machine, even when working on a Mac or using non-English character sets.
For DDOP - DaDesktop on Premise servers, SSH access is permitted if needed.
