GPU Reservations

Training Coordinators are empowered to secure guaranteed GPU resources for specific courses through the GPU reservation feature. These reservations grant courses top priority access to requested GPU compute hardware, thereby ensuring that training environments and labs have the necessary infrastructure to function effectively.

 

Follow the steps below to establish a GPU reservation for a course:

Navigate to the 'Desktops' tab on the course page and select the blue 'Reserve GPU' button located directly beneath the 'Video conference' button.

 

A dialog box will appear prompting you to provide specific details for your GPU request.

The initial field pertains to location, which defaults to 'Anywhere'.

Should you be aware of the nearest city to the participants, you can specify it by selecting 'Within distance from city' and entering the location manually.

For broader location coverage, you may opt to select 'Others...' instead.

After confirming your location preference, click 'Continue' to proceed to the 'Per desktop' section, where you can define the specific machine requirements.

In this section, detail all necessary resources per machine. This allows for a precise estimation of the approximate resource costs.

** Please ensure accuracy in your entries. This not only refines the cost estimation but also assists course managers in sourcing alternative resources if the specified region is unavailable.

 

If you are satisfied with the entered details, click 'Continue' to advance to the GPU requirements section.

It is advisable to consult with the trainer at this stage to identify the exact needs for the course. Trainers typically have a clear understanding of the specific GPU Vendor and Model required to deliver their curriculum. If either you or the trainer is uncertain, please leave this field set to 'ANY'.

Currently, the available vendors are limited to AMD and Nvidia.

Regarding the models, our current catalogue is listed for your reference. If the specific trainer requirements are unknown, please set this option to 'ANY' as well.

 

Once you have verified all reservation details, click 'Place reservation'. This action will allocate the necessary funds, activate the reservation, and update the status on the course page, as illustrated below:

 

Should you receive updated information regarding the GPU requirements for the course necessitating changes to the existing reservation, please reach out to DD support for assistance in modifying the GPU reservation request.
